The Headache Center is a beacon of light for patients of all ages suffering with chronic headache disorders.

As Mississippi’s only dedicated Headache Treatment center, The Headache Center has treated over 4000 patients from all over Mississippi and the Southeast. In fact, our patients travel an average of 3 to 4 hours each way to receive the best treatment plan and close follow-up only a headache specialist can offer.

The Headache Center is trusted by over 300 referring practitioners, and we work with a strong network of radiologists, ophthalmologists, neurologists, hospitals, anesthesiologists, cardiologists, psychiatrists, psychologists, dentists, ENTs, women’s healthcare providers, and physical therapists. Additionally, our Headache Specialist is certified in Headache Medicine by the National Headache Foundation and has trained several neurologists and nurse practitioners from other states in headache medicine and treatment.

At The Headache Center, we treat each patient with compassion and empathy. Not just because that’s our job, but because every single person on our staff either has a headache disorder personally or has a loved one who does.

We know firsthand how disruptive headache disorders can be, we understand the suffering they cause, and we are passionate about improving outcomes for our patients.

Our staff works hard to educate and empower you to take control of your own health, and this requires a lot more time than a 5-minute office visit.

During your first appointment at The Headache Center we’ll spend at least an hour listening to your concerns, thoroughly examining your history, and performing a comprehensive exam. Once we’ve achieved an accurate diagnosis, our staff thoroughly explains your specific condition and walks you through every aspect of your treatment from medication to lifestyle management. We also send you home armed with approachable, evidence-based articles to help you continue to learn more about every aspect of your diagnosis and prescription plan.

Subsequent visits will be less time-intensive, but we’ll always spend at least 30 minutes with you. Proper treatment for headache and migraine conditions involves more than a simple prescription. A holistic treatment plan is typically necessary, involving many factors such as lifestyle changes, dietary adjustments, prescription medication, and more.

Every patient’s migraine triggers and symptoms are different, and require a unique approach. We treat you as a person, not a label.

The Headache Center treats far more than just Migraine: we work with many different headache disorders, along with common co-morbitites.

Other headache disorders diagnosed and treated at The Headache Center include (but are not limited to):

As any headache sufferer knows, the actual headache itself is far from the only symptom. Common co-morbidities of headache disorders include:

Only at The Headache Center will you get a holistic approach aimed at treating all the problems associated with headache disorders

The Headache Center welcomes patients of all ages and treats both adult and pediatric headache disorders.

Did you know that children can also suffer from Migraine or other Headache Disorders? Headache Disorders can affect people of any age! According to The Migraine Research Foundation, about 10% of school-age children suffer from Migraine, and they often go undiagnosed due to their age. Migraine has even been reported in children as young as 18 months!

Headache Disorders can also appear later in life, or present with different symptoms as our bodies age. For example, more severe and more frequent Migraine attacks often result from the fluctuations in estrogen levels that accompany menopause.

At The Headache Center, we work hard to always offer the most up-to-date, best practice guidelines and treatments.

The Headache Center does not provide controlled substances for headache disorders. All published literature on treating headaches with controlled substances shows significantly worse outcomes when treated with narcotics (opioids) and barbiturates.

Instead, we stay on top of the most up-to-date, best practice guidelines and treatments such as:

Additionally, neuromodulation devices that have been FDA cleared for headache disorders are a great treatment option for those with medication contraindications, or where several medications have failed. They can also be used adjunctively with medication to enhance treatment results.

Hospitalization can be arranged for patients requiring blood patches or IV DHE infusions.
